Versions 2.5.0 and 2.5.1 add new ways to display your image collections, from a single-image slider to a responsive carousel and a fullscreen slideshow.
The images stay connected to your collection. Add or remove images, update their titles and captions, or change their collection order, and the display reflects those changes without rebuilding the block.
2.5.0: One slider, multiple ways to display images
The new Collection Slider lets you choose how many images appear at once. Show one large image or create a carousel with several visible images. Separate desktop, tablet, and mobile settings let you adjust the layout for each screen size.
You can also customize:
- Navigation button position, alignment, shape, and text or icons.
- Whether the image count appears and where it sits.
- Automatic playback, timing, and the progress bar color.
- Thumbnail titles, captions, and their colors.
- Which photo details appear in the lightbox.
The settings panels now start closed. Open panels have a light gray background and white headings, making related options easier to find.
Create a collection slider
- Add the Collection Slider block to your page.
- Open Gallery source and choose your collection.
- Open Layout and choose how many images to show on desktop, tablet, and mobile.
- Adjust spacing, cropping, and aspect ratio.
- Open Slider Controls to style the buttons and choose whether to show the image count.
For a single-image slider, set all three image counts to 1. For a carousel, try 3 on desktop, 2 on tablet, and 1 on mobile.

Set up automatic playback
Open Playback, enable Autoplay, and set Seconds between images. You can also choose the progress bar color in this panel.
Visitors can play or pause the slider. The progress bar shows the time remaining before the next image.
Show photo details in the lightbox
The photo-details popover can display available metadata such as camera, lens, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and focal length.

To enable it:
- Enable EXIF dynamic data in the Media Bridge settings.
- In the block’s Lightbox panel, set Image behavior to Custom gallery lightbox.
- Open Lightbox Photo Details and enable Show EXIF popover.
- Select the fields you want visitors to see.
Only selected fields with available data appear. If a photo has no matching metadata, those details won’t be shown.
The popover includes the photo title in its header. On smaller screens, the details scroll beneath the header with a thin scrollbar.
Use Lightbox Styles to adjust lightbox colors and typography. Thumbnail text and colors are grouped together under Thumbnail title and caption.
2.5.1: Fullscreen slideshow playback
Version 2.5.1 adds a fullscreen slideshow to the custom lightbox. It provides previous/next and play/pause controls, plus a close button.
During playback, the controls fade after three seconds of inactivity. Mouse movement, touch, or keyboard use brings them back. They stay visible while playback is paused.
The slideshow has its own timing and loop settings, separate from the slider on the page. Opening the lightbox pauses the in-page slider.
Enable the fullscreen slideshow

- Open the block’s Lightbox panel.
- Choose Custom gallery lightbox under Image behavior.
- Enable Enable fullscreen slideshow.
- Set Lightbox seconds between images.
- Enable Loop slideshow to repeat continuously, or turn it off to stop at the final image.
With looping off, pressing Play at the final image restarts the slideshow from the beginning.
Add a slideshow button to the page
Open Slider Controls and enable the Show fullscreen slideshow button.
This adds a button that launches the fullscreen slideshow directly from the current image. It follows your existing button appearance settings.
Choose what happens when an image is clicked
Autoplay when lightbox opens controls whether clicking an image immediately starts the fullscreen slideshow.
- Leave it off to open the regular lightbox, with its enabled titles, captions, thumbnails, and photo details. Visitors can start the slideshow using its play button.
- Turn it on to enter slideshow mode automatically whenever the lightbox opens.
The dedicated slideshow button starts fullscreen playback directly even when this autoplay setting is off.
Automatic playback respects reduced-motion preferences. If native fullscreen is unavailable, the slideshow fills the browser viewport.
Update to 2.5.1 to get all the slider, photo-details, and slideshow features from both releases.
