Block Editor Tweaks for Components

Some basic CSS to help the component props look a little better in the Gutenberg editor.

Zack Pyle shared this in the Circle Community. He has been making a few tweaks to the block editor to make Etch a little easier for non-technical team members/clients to work with. Kevin alluded to this being an upcoming phase in the April 23 live stream, but in the meantime, this will help.

  1. Hide the key below component prop inputs (unnecessary in the block editor)
  2. Remove extra padding on component prop groups
  3. Hide the Image ID prop input since there is a button to select from the media library
  4. Hide Etch blocks from the inserter (instead of unregistering them. If you unregister them, then the user can’t duplicate your etch stuff)
/* Etch Block Editor Component Prop Tweaks */
.components-base-control__help{
    display: none;
}
[data-etch-property-type="object:group"] .components-panel__body{
    padding-inline: 0;
}
[data-etch-property-type="string:wpMediaId"] .components-text-control__input,
[data-etch-property-type="string:image"] .components-text-control__input{
    display: none;
}

/* Hide entire Etch section from inserter */
.block-editor-inserter__panel-header:has(+ .block-editor-inserter__panel-content [class*="editor-block-list-item-etch-"]),
.block-editor-inserter__panel-header:has(+ .block-editor-inserter__panel-content [class*="editor-block-list-item-etch-"]) + .block-editor-inserter__panel-content {
    display: none !important;
}

Here is a before-and-after image and as you can see, the update version on the right is much cleaner.
